I Don’t Want to Ever Leave Lafayette
Somebody please make it so that I don’t have to.
Somebody please make it so that I don’t have to.
When I was twelve, I almost burned down 5305 Wildair Drive in Gentilly in a terrifying Times-Picayune sports section and tabletop scented candle incident. The newspaper caught fire in my hands. I was so enraptured by, probably, a Peter Finney or Brian Allee-Walsh story on the Saints that I didn’t notice until my mom shouted a warning from the next room.
A while ago, the Shadowy National Corporation that owns the Times-Picayune, among many other old-line newspapers, made decisions that resulted in Brian Allee-Walsh no longer working for the newspaper. Today, the Shadowy National Corporation announced its decision to gut the Times-Picayune.
It seems I’ll never have to worry about a hypothetical kid of mine burning my future New Orleans house with a flaming copy of the Times-Picayune.
Unless.
Let’s pool together some money and buy the print section of the T-P and keep it local and make it awesome. Or maybe that’s just the dreamer in me talking…
Wye Oak - The Altar
Instead of Operation Punk Rock today, I’ve taken a slightly more Indie turn with Wye Oak.

Tomorrow’s game will be at 12:35 as the Os try to win the rubber match game of the series against Boston.
I do love any time the Red Sox lose. ;)
